Dance Audition Information

We are excited to hear of your interest in our dance program! We are holding several auditions for Fall 2018 degree seeking candidates throughout the year.

Below you will find information about how to prepare for your audition. Please note, this audition is necessary for prospective Bachelor of Fine Arts candidates, however Bachelor of Arts candidates are also encouraged to attend. Dance Program Audition Dates

November 17, 2017 High School Dance Day Lindenwood University, St. Charles, Missouri
February 23, 2018 Spring Dance Audition Day Lindenwood University, St. Charles, Missouri
March 1, 2018 National High School Dance Festival Point Park University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

*We also invite students to audition privately throughout the year. Please email Tricia Zweier at tzweier@lindenwood.edu to schedule your audition. It is the Dance Program's preference that students attend our Spring Dance Audition Day or complete the application and audition process by March 1st.

The Dance Audition will include participation in two technique classes, a solo performance, and a Q&A opportunity with the faculty.

9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. - Ballet with Janet Strzelec
In addition to ballet shoes,
Women: leotard, tights.
Men: Bike shorts or fitted pants, fitted tee-­‐shirt.

Beginning at 10:30 a.m. - Solo Performances
The solo may or may not be choreographed by the auditioning dancer and should be from one to two minutes in length. Please bring any music you may be using for your piece on a CD, iPod, or phone. Note: we may ask some of you to show your solo at 12:30.

11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. - Contemporary with Tricia Zweier
Women: leotard, tights or leggings and fitted tank top.
Men: Bike shorts or fitted pants, fitted tee-­‐shirt.

12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. - Lunch with current dance students

1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. - Tour of the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts

2:00 p.m. - Group Q&A for students, parents, and dance faculty

7:30 p.m. (Optional) - Attend The Winter Dance Concert
