As a graphic design student at Lindenwood, you will study the basics of design, from art theory and art history to hands-on computer studio courses. You will build your digital and traditional portfolios with design projects from courses using industry-standard design applications.
The graphic design program at Lindenwood University covers several areas in design: print and publication, advertising, typography and illustration, web design, user experience, and motion design.
The graphic design computer studios are state-of-the-art, equipped with high-end Apple workstations, Wacom graphics tablets, and Epson large-format printers. The studio is available for you to take your ideas from beginning to end.

Earning a Degree in Graphic Design at Lindenwood University
The BA degree requires 57 credit hours, and the BFA requires 87 credit hours in a series of design based courses.
When you enter the BA in graphic design program at Lindenwood, you study core design basics such as 2-D and 3-D design, color theory, and drawing. You will also learn about art history and choose specialized courses ranging from typography to motion graphics.
Lindenwood’s BFA in graphic design requires many of the same core classes as the BA program but also delves into photography and web graphic design and scripting.
In both programs, you are encouraged to take an art internship, which will give you the opportunity to connect with industry professionals in a work setting. Internships may also lead to job offers upon graduation.
