Course Description

This online workshop will focus on the intense revision of a single piece of fiction. Each student will submit up to 15 pages of a short story or novel chapter(s) for workshop to receive rigorous feedback from peers and the instructor. Students will then formulate a revision plan for the particular piece, detailing what revisions they intend to make, what feedback they chose to use, and what feedback they chose not to use and why. Through this process, students will build their revision skills by learning to organize, digest, and discern feedback.

Students will be required to read and respond to 3-4 peer submissions per week, along with short lectures. The goal is for each student to finish the course with a deeper understanding of the revision process, and a highly polished piece of fiction.

All fiction genres welcome.
