Course Description

This course is a craft/literature class focused on the short stories of Margaret Atwood. Each week, the instructor provides craft notes drawn from an assigned story, and as part of class discussion, students write a brief excerpt that mirrors craft techniques from that week's story. This allows students to receive weekly feedback on these writing exercises, along with responding to stories through literary analysis and by reading from a writer’s perspective. Our textbook is an Atwood story collection from earlier in her writing career, focused on the foundations of her work.
