Course Description

There is a long tradition of short-story writing by American women and many should be called masters as easily as their male counterparts. So why are they so often compared to men? This study of American Women: Masters of the Short Story spans two 8-week terms. You can take one or both courses. Course I canvasses Kate Chopin to Susan Glaspell, and Course II--Grace Paley to Annie Proulx. What’s in-between is part of the adventure.
