Three-Year Fast Track: Art History and Visual Culture (BA)

Earn your Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Visual Culture in just three years with the Fast Track program!

Lindenwood University is now offering a specialized track that allows students pursuing a BA in Art History and Visual Culture to complete their education in three years.

If you are interested in accelerating your education, this is a great option to complete your bachelor of arts while saving a quarter of the cost.

You will take the same classes that are included in the traditional four year track, but with the added flexibility of online and on-ground coursework. Flexibility is maximized by offering options to take eight week courses or traditional 16 week courses. 

Interested students will have their first term fees for taking over 18 credit hours waived. To be considered, you must also have at least a 3.3 GPA that should be maintained throughout the accelerated track. Admission Requirements


  • A minimum high school cumulative un-weighted GPA of 2.5.
  • A minimum ACT composite score of 20 or a minimum SAT (reading & Math) score of 1020.

Transfer Students

  • 2.0 transfer GPA with 24 transferable credit hours.
  • If less than 2.0 or 24 hours, student must provide official high school transcripts and official ACT or SAT score for further evaluation.

International Students

  • TOEFL Score (minimum 61), IELTS Score (minimum of 5.5), or ACT/SAT Score (20 ACT/ 940 SAT critical reading and math).

Art History and Visual Culture Program Learning Objectives

The Lindenwood University Art History and Visual Culture program is designed to prepare you for a career as a professional art historian or curator with the knowledge and skills to understand the art-historical canon and objects from the various historical periods and regions,visual analyses of works and use critical language and vocabulary of art history,advanced issues and current theoretical debates related to specific areas/periods in the history of art, advanced research and assess the “state of the field” and synthesize primary and secondary sources appropriately, and advanced critical thinking and writing skills and demonstrate them in research papers using Chicago Manual style.

Careers in Art History and Visual Culture

When you graduate from Lindenwood University with a BA in Art History and Visual Culture, you will be prepared to enter the art history field in professions such as archivist, curator, museum worker, art gallery owner or worker, curatorial consultant, art advisor, art law, or visual resource curator.
